Presentation to Darby

A presentation was made to Darby Allan in recognition of his service to the Royal Navy. Darby originally went to sea in 1939 working on the Hull Trawler fleet.  In 1947 he joined the royal navy eventually leaving in 1973 after completing three engagements.  In 1973 he joined the merchant navy serving with Canard, P&O and BP to mention three of the companies.  Darby retired from the sea in 1993.  Some of his claims to fame he was Streaky Bacon's course instructor and Archie Gemmill's Leading Hand On HMS PHOEBE.
