Bill Darby Allan served 1947 - 1973

Sadly passed away peacefully in his sleep on the 19th Dec 2013 age 84.

The funeral is being held at Hawkinge Crematorium, Kent, CT18 7AG on 9th Jan at 13:15hrs.

Below are some brief details regarding Darby .

Darby originally went to sea in 1939 working on the Hull Trawler fleet.  In 1947 he joined the royal navy eventually leaving in 1973 after completing three engagements.  In 1973 he joined the merchant navy serving with Canard, P&O and BP to mention three of the companies. Darby retired from the sea in 1993. Some of his claims to fame, He was Streaky Bacons course instructor and Archie Gemmills Leading hand On HMS PHOEBE
